First Gov't-Backed Tech Startup SolX Promises to Deliver Cheaper Energy Cost to PH Businesses

Makati City, Philippines - SolX Technologies Inc. is the first startup to secure the Philippine government's backing through the Startup Venture Fund (SVF), managed by the National Development Company (NDC), the country's state-owned enterprise investment arm. The investment is made alongside Japanese co-investor Real Tech Holdings Co., Ltd. (Real Tech), a venture capital firm investing in deep tech startups tackling environmental and societal issues. This marks the first deployment of the SVF and also Real Tech's first investment in a Philippine company.

Sergius Santos, Chief Executive Officer of SolX, welcomes this development. “We are glad to partner with NDC and Real Tech in multiplying solutions for the Philippine energy industry and applaud this concrete commitment to support the domestic startup ecosystem in the country. This is a step in the right direction for us to boost our domestic presence and credibility through the Philippine government's support. Real Tech's investment will also allow our company to be globally competitive in furthering our technology and benchmarking best practices internationally." says Sergius.

SolX Technologies is revolutionizing the Philippine energy industry through its digital energy solutions ecosystem that simplifies complexity in energy procurement, energy management processes, and energy efficiency and conservation reporting. It has delivered over PHP 400 million in energy savings to over 50 clients and counting, including industry leaders like Converge ICT and Digital Edge Philippines by the Rufino Group.

Matt Tan, SolX Chief Operations Officer, adds, “SolX recognizes the vital role we play in not only bringing down energy costs, but also supporting businesses’ path to sustainability in the long term. Energy will always be a critical part of zero carbon plans, and we hope to guide businesses in achieving both energy cost and emissions reductions.”
