RCBC Yuchengco Tower I and Tower II Set the Standard in Energy Efficiency and RA 11285 Compliance

Yuchengco Tower I and Tower II have set a high bar for commercial energy efficiency and regulatory compliance by proactively undergoing Level 1 Energy Audits and implementing advanced monitoring systems ahead of the RA 11285 deadline. Their early compliance, data-driven improvements, and integration of smart technologies reflect best practices in sustainable building management.

These achievements were made possible through a strategic partnership with SolX Technologies Inc., a DOE-accredited Energy Service Company (ESCO). Together, the Yuchengco Group and SolX adopted a phased approach to compliance and energy optimization across both properties.

The initiative began with Yuchengco Tower I, which completed its Level 1 Energy Audit on January 31, 2021. The audit provided key insights into building performance and guided the rollout of targeted energy-saving measures, including the installation of Smart Energy Monitoring, a real-time platform that optimizes load distribution, delivers predictive analytics, and enhances visibility into consumption.

Following this foundation, Yuchengco Tower II completed its own Level 1 Energy Audit on February 13, 2025, further reinforcing the organization’s commitment to sustainable operations and full RA 11285 compliance.

The audits were led by SolX Technologies’ VP for Energy Solutions Aloysius Santos, supported by Operations Manager Ryan Funtelar, Compliance Engineer Mark Bryan Patricio, RMEE, and Operations Administrative Associate Johannes Andrei Unana, ECE, ECT. On-site coordination at Tower I was handled by Property Manager Doroteo Siman, Admin Manager Monaliza Luna, and Building Engineer Engr. Clifford Sayong, CEM.

The ESCO team also prepared and submitted Yuchengco Tower I and II’s Annual Energy Utilization Reports (AEUR), Annual Energy Efficiency Compliance Reports (AEECR) for 2023, and the required five-year historical energy data—well ahead of the April 15 deadline. This timely compliance helped avoid potential penalties of up to Php 1,000,000.

By taking early action and investing in long-term efficiency measures, the Yuchengco Group has positioned both towers as models of sustainable and compliant building management.
